Warm welcome to North East!

Shillong is a hill station in northeast India and capital of the state of Meghalaya. It’s known for the manicured gardens at Lady Hydari Park. Nearby, Ward’s Lake is surrounded by walking trails. North, the Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Cultures features displays on the region’s native people. Waterfalls include the Elephant Falls to the southwest. East of here, forested Shillong Peak offers city views.

Guwahati is a sprawling city beside the Brahmaputra River in the northeast Indian state of Assam. It’s known for holy sites like the hilltop Kamakhya Temple, featuring shrines to the Hindu deities Shiva and Vishnu. To the east, 18th-century Navagraha Temple is an astronomical center with planetary shrines. Umananda Temple, dedicated to Shiva and covered with engravings, stands on Peacock Island in the river.

Nohsngithiang Falls is a seven-segmented waterfall located 1 kilometre south of Mawsmai village in East Khasi Hills district in the Indian state of Meghalaya. The water falls from a height of 315 metres and has an average width of 70 metres

Itineraries

Day 1

Guwahati Airport-Shillong (110 Kms/3 Hrs)

Assistance on arrival at Guwahati Airport and transfer to Shillong En route visit Bara Pani. Upon reaching Shillong, check in at hotel Evening free for leisure Overnight in Shillong.

Day 2

Shillong

Explore Shillong which includes visit to Lady Hydari Park, Spread Eagle Falls, Golf Course, Wards Lake, Cathedral , Don Bosco Museum optional tour to Butterfly Museum check out many souvenir cum gift shops located in Police Bazar Overnight in Shillong

Day 3

Shillong-Cherrapunjee-Shillong (56Kms/ 2 Hrs-oneway)

Drive to Cherrapunjee enroute visit Shillong Peak Proceed to Elephant Falls before finally leaving for Cherrapunji-the wettest place on earth where we will be exploring the Mawsmai Caves, the Nohkalikai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls and Ram Krishna Mission Overnight in Shillong.

Day 4

Shillong-Mawlynnong- Dawki- Shillong (100 Kms/ 2-3 hrs one way)

Day trip to Mawlynnong- the cleanest village in Asia The saying seeing is believing seems to be so apt for this village This is an experience in itself. We will explore the living root bridge and the tree house in the village Then we proceed to Dawki (Indo-Bangladesh Border) Overnight in Shillong

Day 5

Shillong - Guwahati(110 Kms/ 3 hrs one way)

After breakfast leave for Guwahati Afternoon visit the famed Kamakhya Temple Evening enjoy the optional river cruise at Brahmaputra river.Overnight in Guwahati

Day 6

Guwahati

Today go for half day sightseeing- Sankardev Kalakshetra, Guwahati Museum, Balaji Temple and Umananda Temple- travel by ferry (Shiva temple located at the Peacock Island in the middle of river Brahmaputra). Evening at leisure Overnight in Guwahati

Day 7

Depart Guwahati

Transfers will be arranged as per the flight/ train schedule
